Weather Resistant Steel Plate Despriction
Weather Resistant Steel Plate is a special type of steel plate with known as corten steel or weathering steel. We are a leading manufacturer and supplier of different types of weather resistant steels such as the Weathering Steel A Plate and other types. The material forms an oxide layer on the surface known as patina upon exposing to the atmosphere.
Corten steel plate, another name is Weather resistant structural steel plate . The anticorrosive properties of weather resistant steel are better than those of other structural steels in many applications. The steel is self-protecting: the rust layer on the surface becomes a tight oxide layer that slows down the progress of corrosion.
Weathering refers to the chemical composition (Cr,Ni and Cu) of these steels, allowing them to exhibit increased resistance to atmospheric corrosion compared to other steels. This is because Weathering resistant steel plate forms a protective layer on its surface under the influence of the weather. That is the rea. The corrosion retarding effect of the protective layer is produced by the particular distribution and concentration of alloying elements in it. The layer protecting the surface develops and regenerates continuously when subjected to the influence of the weather. In other words, the Weathering resistant steel plate is allowed to rust in order to form the protective coating.
The products made of weather resistant steel have a long lifespan in even the most challenging weather conditions. Especially architects have found multiple ways to use weather resistant steel when – alongside the structures and costs – the aesthetics of the buildings need to be taken into consideration. The utilization of weather resistant steel reduces the need and thus the costs related to surface treatment. Also thet environmental load is reduced due to its long lifespan.
